I have no idea why I purchased this album. I was going through my little vinyl collection and realized I had it, along with The Harder They Fall. When I put it on, I couldn't believe what I had been missing.

I Want You Forever is my favorite song on this album. It's nine and a half minutes long. Jay-Z in spoken word, D’Angelo in full voice, Jeymes Samuel holding the space between them. That track is why this session exists. It doesn’t survive a playlist. It can’t be shuffled past. It was made for a room where people have agreed, in advance, to stay.
